Day 1: Pick Up And Transfer To Ruhengeri

To start your 3 Days Gorilla Trekking in Rwanda, you will be meet by our representative – your driver-guide at Kigali International Airport upon arrival or at your hotel after breakfast. He will brief you about the safari and go for a Kigali City Tour visiting the Rwanda Genocide Memorial Grounds, some craft shops and your guide will give you some information on the culture and history of Rwanda.

Enjoy lunch and then embark on a journey to Volcanoes National Park. From Kigali City to Volcanoes National Park, it is a journey of approximately 3 hours. Arrive at your lodge in the evening, check in for dinner and overnight stay.

Gorilla Trekking Experience

Day 2: Gorilla Trek and Ibyi’wachu Cultural Experience

Wake up as early as 6 am, enjoy an early breakfast and be ready to set off to Volcanoes National Park for gorilla trekking. Join other visitors at Kinigi Park Headquarters for briefing about gorilla trekking, here a senior ranger guide will take you through rules and regulations to follow while in the forest and presence of mountain gorillas.

Led by a senior ranger guide, trek to the starting point and head into the forest searching for mountain gorillas. The trek takes approximately 2 to 4 hours or more depending on the movement of the gorillas and where they spent their previous night. Once you locate the habituated gorilla troop, you will spend one hour in their presence, watching them feed, observe the females care for their young ones and the silverback looking over his family.

After your incredible time with the gorillas, you will trek back to the starting point, meet your driver guide and return to your lodge for lunch and short rest. In the afternoon, you will head to the Ibyi’wacu Village for a cultural experience. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer Back To Kigali

Today marks the end of your gorilla trekking adventure in Rwanda. Enjoy lunch at your own pace, check out of your lodge and drive back to Kigali where you will be dropped off at Kigali International Airport or at any location of your choice.
