Safari Overview
Embark on an iconic Rwanda experience 5-day adventure in Rwanda’s lush landscape and witness some of its most remarkable wildlife on this primate safari. Begin your journey with a visit to the former King’s Palace in Nyanza before heading to Nyungwe National Park for a chimpanzee trek and a canopy walk. The itinerary also includes a scenic drive along the Kivu Belt with breathtaking views of Lake Kivu and a visit to the Musanze region, where you will have a chance to trek Rwanda’s famous mountain gorillas and golden monkeys. With plenty of opportunities to immerse yourself in Rwanda’s culture and history, this safari promises to be an unforgettable experience.
Day to Day itinerary details
On arrival to Kigali, we will welcome you and be transferred to a hotel in Kigali. Depending on client’s budget and choice, you will be transferred to the hotel for your night stay.
Before being transferred to Akagera National park, you will have a city tour in Kigali where you will visit different genocide memorial sites and the craft markets. Kigali city has got rich historical and traditional information that will make your safari more rewarding. You will be transferred to Akagera National park for the afternoon guided game drive.
This day will be for game viewing in the park. you will have an opportunity to see to see over 12 species of antelopes, over 525 species of birds including the rare one called the shoe bill stock, papyrus gynolek and the big 5 i.e. Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Buffalo and Elephant may also be spotted. You will have two separate game drives in the morning and in the afternoon. Dinner and an overnight stay at Akagera game Lodge
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the home of the rare mountain Gorillas, Volcanoes National park. This park is a home to the rare mountain gorillas and is well known for the best experiences clients experience when they visit the park. Upon arrival, you will check in at One & Only Gorillas Nest and in the evening, you will have an excursion to the traditional Iby’Iwachu local communities for a cultural experience.

In the morning, have breakfast in the park and setoff for a memorable experience with the gorillas. You will have ranger guides to lead you into the forest for your Gorilla tracking experience. Other primates and bird species may also be spotted. You will have an opportunity to take pictures and videos of these Gorillas.
As your fantastic holiday comes to an end, you will be flown from Volcanoes to Kigali to catch your flight home. If necessary, you could stay overnight somewhere close to the airport to catch an early flight back home too. You’ll be sure to arrive home with incredible stories to tell your loved ones.
